Gateway Family House Assisted Living is seeking enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated part time 1st shift CNAs and STNAs to join our team.  Shift includes every OR every other weekend and every other holiday. 

  • GENERAL PURPOSE: Perform direct resident care duties in Assisted Living community under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the Residents 

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

    • Maintain Residentsí rooms in neat, orderly and clutter-free manner.  Make beds, change linen, some laundry
    • Support Residentsí participation in activity programs
    • Directly respond, within scope, to needs and concerns of Residents and family members including call lights
    • Ensure Residentsí right to privacy (visual and auditory)
    • Provide Resident care as directed by care plan and/or nursing staff including assuring / monitoring attendance at meal time
    • Provide input to the Nurses for development of the plan of care and information gathered from care giving activities 

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Preferred STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) or Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) in good standing with the state. If STNA must maintain a current certification in the state throughout employment
    • Must achieve 12 hours of facility provided in service education annually as required by federal regulations (as well as meet state requirements, if exceeds federal). 
    • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance 
    • Previous experience providing hands on assistance with ADLs to multiple Residents on an assignment

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS:

    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding Resident and company proprietary information
    • Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with Residents, families, and other employees at all levels 

    PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

    Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to talk and hear; ability to read and write English; ability to communicate with personnel, ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to adequately lift, support and bodily manipulate the weight of a Resident.
